What was presumed to be an ordinary inauguration as usual at the National Assembly yesterday took a new turn when, after the inauguration of the House Committee on Public Assets, the Committee Chairman, Hon. Ademorin Kuye showed his displeasure at the manner in which Government Agencies and Institutions are managing Federal Government Assets and Properties in their domains; which is costing the nation a huge sum of fortune annually.
According to the Committee Chairman, Hon. Ademorin Kuye, “this committee is founded on three pillars which defined our mandate, these are; Stringent Oversight of Public Asset Management and Disposal in all the MDAs, Guardianship of National Assets and, Governance of forfeited Assets”.
He enjoined all the committee members to bring forth their insights, expertise, and unwavering zeal that will birth the expected success not only to the Committee, but to National Assembly and the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a whole.
Finally, the committee members gave instant instruction to all MDAs and other Federal Government institutions to furnish the Committee with the list of and status of all Assets and properties of the Federal Government in their care within 2 weeks.
